Academics

By providing excellence in education at Viera Charter School, we spark curiosity, and our students ask questions. We collaborate on real issues and our students see the world from a new perspective. We view learning as meaningful opportunities focusing on technology, math and science, the use of digital tools, and emphasizing school-wide and individual character building.

Schools are about students and our students are at the center of every decision we make. From our Kindergarteners to our Middle School 8th graders, we design learning that engages creativity, motivates critical thinking, and inspires collaboration. In turn, our students stretch and grow beyond their wildest imaginations preparing them for future of endless possibilities.

AVID PROGRAM

AVID classrooms promote motion, communication, and teambuilding through activities such as Socratic Seminars, Collaborative Study Groups, peer tutoring, and Philosophical Chairs.  These activities honor the way students learn best and build a growth mindset in these AVID students.  The program places special emphasis on growing writing, critical thinking, teamwork, organization and reading skills.  The college-going and career-building mindset is discussed often, and students are exposed to what colleges offer, how to prepare to get there, and how the skills learned in AVID pave the way for success in the students’ future.
