Meet Our Principal
Dr. Julie A. Cady is an experienced educational leader who is certified in all levels of Educational Leadership as well as Elementary Education - Gifted endorsed through the State of Florida. Committed to providing faculty and students with a safe and secure learning environment that incorporates rigorous and challenging curriculum, and innovative and exciting learning opportunities enriched with technology, Dr. Cady serves the students and families of Viera Charter School. She has been at VCS since it’s opening in 2013. She received her Doctor of Educational Leadership and her Master of Education in Instructional Technology and Media from the University of Central Florida. She also holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of North Dakota as well as a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Park University, Missouri. An educator since 1997, Dr. Cady has received the following awards: PRISM (Promoting Regional Improvement in Science and Mathematics) Teacher Award 2010; Brevard County Schools Exemplary Mathematics Teacher of the Year 2010; Brevard County Schools Teacher of the Year Finalist 2009; Brevard County Area IV Teacher of the Year 2009; Apollo Elementary School Teacher of the Year 2008; Brevard County Award of Excellence, awarded seven times; Florida Summer Industrial Fellowship for Teachers Recognition Award, awarded six times; Pay For Performance, awarded seven times. She holds memberships in the following prestigious honorary organizations: Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary Organization; Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society; Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Societies. Dr. Cady has held the following teaching positions, Principal, Assistant Principal, Elementary Specialist, Gifted Student Teacher, Technology Instructor, Media Specialist for grades K-6th, and Classroom Teacher grades 3rd – 6th.

The mission of Viera Charter School is to provide students with a challenging program which emphasizes scientific inquiry, critical thinking, understanding of mathematical concepts and effective communication using innovative, reform-based instructional methods in a stimulating and nurturing environment that fosters maximum student achievement.
Viera Charter School is a Cognia accredited educational institution. Accreditation through Cognia indicates that Viera Charter School has met rigorous, research- based standards of educational excellence to ensure the education program offered at Viera Charter School meets the needs of learners through proficiency in Leadership Capacity, Learning Capacity, and Resource Capacity. Using these standards, Viera Charter School targets areas in each domain for continuous improvement in creating student success.
